Hi there, I'm Nanette Light, a journalist living in Dallas, Texas. Guided by curiosity for the last decade, I've covered everything from the economics of West Texas cotton farmers to chronicling the months-long, hatch to table journey of a flock of chickens.

Previously a metro reporter at The Dallas Morning News, my work included a range of topics in a digital-focused newsroom from the growing pains of suburban sprawl to the challenges of educating students in the state's fastest growing school district. My writing centers on the people behind the complex topics you might not know much about from school finances and teacher pay to controversial school accountability ratings.
